Perforation Machinery and Stewarts of America pinned products are standard Original Equipment for the majority of the world's leading Tobacco Machinery Makers. We designed the integral construction, aluminium alloy Pinned drum for the Tobacco Industry, and it has since become the accepted industry standard, against which all imitations must be measured.

The integral construction aluminium-alloy Pinned Drums for the Tobacco Industry was developed 35 years ago, and we have continued to develope this drum to keep its position as the well-tested industry leader. The light but strong construction uses the integral strength of an extruded aluminium alloy section, supported by an elegant construction of a shaft with flanges. The development of "NIF" bonded pins guarantees an unrivalled pin point accuracy.

We now supply an extensive range of Drums and segments for most machines, ranging in size from 150mm to over 2500mm wide, all using aluminium alloy extrusion designs.

Pinned Picker Roller and Metering Rollers
Stewarts of America Inc. picker and other Hopper Rollers are a major improvement over conventional products.

The pins are securely bonded into an aluminium alloy tube with steel stub-shafts, using anaerobic adhesive. This construction is a unique Stewarts of America development and is strong and light and allows the use of fully toughened, smooth steel  pins, with no screw thread required, and no sharp edges to collect debris.

This greatly reduces the possibility of pin damage caused by stones and metal occasionally passing through the hopper, therefore maintenance is reduced, and the new design gives typically double the life of a conventional picker with screwed in pins.  If damage does occur, it can usually be repaired using our repair kit.

The smooth pin gives cleaner running and less drag, and prevents string build up. The improved pin point accuracy makes setting easier and results in more accurate metering.
The light weight  roller assembly saves on bearing wear and power consumption.

Stewarts of America Inc. Conveyor assemblies can be supplied with both pinned and saw-tooth bars mounted on industry-approved belting. All types of conveyor assemblies can be supplied, either assembled or as parts, and a wide range of spares is always held in stock.
