Fibrillated yarns are made out of one wide tape. After mono axially stretching the film or tape, it is fibrillated by the pinned cylinders into a honeycomb structure. This results in filaments that resemble blades of grass, while still remaining a single yarn which makes the process inexpensive. Fibrillation offers an economical addition to a tape or film line, and provides the following benefits:
1) More runnage per weight.
2) Production at reduced cost
3) Increased flexibility
4) Increased elasticity
5) Simple to add to an existing line
6) Improved abrasion resistance
7) Higher tensile strength
8) Easy to knot
9) Improved shock absorption capability.
10) Improved gripping qualities
Applications can include:
- Artificial lawn and Astroturf
- Ropes
- Cords
- Yarns
- Harvest Yarns
- Concrete re-enforcement fibers
- Carpet backing
- Tie down strapping
- Hauling Ropes
